RIP Cassette T Shirt from Five Finger Tees

by on March 3, 2012

I’m not sure this tee is accurate. I mean, there’s a DIY culture of musicians that are still pumping out material on analog tape. It’s a richer sound than digital, and the old school feel of slipping a tape into its slot and snapping the door shut is more pleasing to the tactile senses than pressing play on your iPod screen.

However, in a general cultural sense the cassette tape is obsolete. It had a good run — 1962-1992 — but now it’s done. So, to commemorate this fine technological achievement and recognize its importance in the evolution of audio recording please consider purchasing with your hard-earned money, this R.I.P. Cassette T Shirt.

Five Finger Tees should be commended for bringing this shirt to the public consciousness. Rest In Peace Cassettes!
