Of course, this Ray’s Occult Books T Shirt is in reference to Ghostbusters and Ray, is of course, Dr. Raymond Stantz, the character played by Dan Akroyd, who owns an occult book store. This movie hit in 1984 and it’s still huge. The kids love this stuff. It is a classic I have to say. The script is snappy, the music is peppy, the humor gets you, and, of course, there’s all of the unforgettable moments: Stay Puft Marshmallow, Who Ya Gonna Call, and, uh…some other awesome scenes.

This is a ballsy move by gabielng to tweak the logo of a cinematic institution like Ghostbusters. Especially, going to the backside and show the bare end of the iconic ghost. Oh and this Ghost Buttsters t shirt is frickin’ funny too. This is like a behind the scenes look at that the moment this powerful logo came together.
“I ain’t afraid of no ghosts!”
Little known fact: Ray Parker Jr. was deathly afraid of ghosts and was totally lying as he sang the Ghostbusters theme song. Sometimes you gotta do things for money that you aren’t necessarily proud of, and Ray saying that wasn’t afraid of no ghosts, when really he suffered from Phasmaphobia is right up there with blasphemy as one of the unpardonable sins. Nothing like a nice shout out to the classic comedy Ghostbusters. Very funny movie. Loaded with comedic talent. It stands the test of time. I can’t believe it’s already 27 years old. My god I’m old.

This is awesome. Dude in Ghostbusters thought of the Stay Puft Marshmallow man hoping that he was soft and non-destructive, but it turns out Stay Puft could wreak tons of havoc in the city and needed to be taken care of. Now, on this Stay Puft Marshmallow S’more T Shirt, are we looking at massive graham cracker and chocolate bar, or is this Stay Puft in miniature? These are important questions and I don’t think I’m going to be able to find the elusive answer in my lifetime. But, if you know leave your wisdom in the comments, please.

So, here we have the Keep Calm and Carry On theme just like the Keep Calm and Put Bacon On Tee from Snorg Tees that was also put out this week. What kind of outlandishness is this? The same theme on the same week, how randomly lovely is that. Anyways, I love the original message for inspiring a strong get through it attitude. I dig the white on red brightness to balance out the somber messaging. And, I really dig this new developing meme, capitalizing on this public domain material that’s taking the message into wild, wild spaces.
Ray was trying to think ahead and think of the nicest memory, so that his thought wouldn’t become the devastation of civilization. It sort of backfired when the Stay Puft Mashmallow Man became an enormous Godzilla like car stomping beastie. But, I’m giving Ray a pass. He was under duress and he used sound logic to the best he could.
