Southwest Airlines tries to even the score

by on July 27, 2010

Fat people celebrate. Southwest Airlines did a solid for one of your kind, and inconvenienced a tiny little waif to boot. Win Win. After the kerfuffle about kicking off a too fat passenger several weeks ago, Southwest decided to make it right by kicking off a skinny chick so a young fat chick could squeeze into two seats on the fully booked flight.

God it must be hell to be a corporation in this overly litigious society. For god’s sake. You’re an airline. If fat people are making it unsafe ‘cuz you can’t get off the ground, you should be able to boot ’em. You shouldn’t have to pretend like you’re out to get the thin beautiful people too, just to look unbiased. Everybody is biased against fat people. That’s the way it is.

Anyway, the headline on this story is very deceptive, like the weight of the recent girl kicked off had anything to do with it, though I would say the flight attendants were probably very selective in their choice. I can just picture the scene, blowing the skinny girl through a crack in the emergency exit, and then herding in the bloated 14-year-old and shoehorning her into the seat.

Headline Shirts will never mislead you. They will only make you scratch your head and say “huh?” sometimes.
