Pac-Man Ghost Maneater T Shirt

What you have here is a lovely little shout out to the classic video game Pacman, but in a little twist, I think what Busted Tees is trying to do is combine a little Hall & Oates in the deal as well. If your not ancient like me, you may not recall that the fey duo did a little number called Maneater, just about the same time Pacman was hitting it big in the 80s.

Alright, I better do a little research on this. But, first, maneater is generally a monicker reserved for a desirable woman that uses men and then spits them out. I guess that would be more a man spitter outer, but hey Cookie Monster never swallowed those cookies he was supposed to love so much, so I’m going to stick with my analogy.

Darryl Hall & John Oates put out Maneater in 1982 and was the number one song for four weeks. Pac-Man was first released in Japan in 1980, and came to the US later that year. Coincidence? Anyway, you’ll need to celebrate these two amazing achievements in the 80s by getting this Pac-Man Maneater T Shirt.

And, you’ll need to fire yourself up with this video. Black Panther! Saxophone!! Mullet!!! Mustache!!!!!! The back light in the party in the back of Oates hair is spectacular. Watch for it (about 1:25 in):

Apparently, Nelly Furtado has done a cover of this masterpiece. Doesn’t sound much like the original, but I’m OK with that. The flavor is still there.
