Legend of Zelda Hyrule Fencing Club T Shirt

by on November 23, 2010

I’m sure all you gamer geeks out there get a total kick out of this little shirt design that references The Legend of Zelda video game series. I’m not going to try and pretend that I know anything about that game because I absolutely do not, but I’m sure 26 seconds on Google will enlighten me. Ready go…

Okay, I’m back and I know enough to briefly discuss the Hyrule Fencing Club T Shirt with you…at least enough to escape out of the room with my reputation as the gaming t shirt wizard and expert still intact. Oh wait, I’m not even remotely close to the gaming tshirt wizard, but really that doesn’t matter, because if you like this shirt at all, if it resonates with your Legend of Zelda sensibilities in any way, then you’ve already hit the buy button and are on your way to owning the shirt.

Basically, I’m trying to convert all the others out there, and I’m not sure there’s really even a way to do that. You either get it and love it or you don’t and are moving on. Busted Tees knows this full well, and they know that there are enough Zelda fans out there to sustain a design like this. Or they at least know that there are enough out there to make a bet in the marketplace.

BTW: the land of Hyrule is where the series mainly takes place, and I’m guessing there’s a lot of sword fighting in the game, so it’s only natural there’s a fencing club in the land. Let’s not forget the fine print on this shirt: It’s Dangerous to Go Alone. Meaning, you probably need to gather up a group to get shit done in this game. What better place to recruit than the Fencing Club.

Ha ha ha. I wonder if your idea of what happens in Zelda is a joke or not. It’s really funny to see someone try to piece together what might happen in a Zelda game based solely on this shirt because this shirt is in no now way referencing anything that actually happens in the game except a quote from the very first game – when you get your first weapon there is a sage in a red cloak that say’s, “It’s dangerous to go alone. Take this.” Then he gives you, Link, the wooden sword. I’m pretty certain that just the idea that Link is a swordsman and that he lives in Hyrule was ingredients enough to jokingly suggest that there would even be such a thing as a fencing club in Hyrule. Because a fencer from Hyrule could be mistaken for Link. Or maybe saying you’re a member of the Hyrule Fencing Club is the same thing as saying you play LOZ because you play as Link the swordsman from Hyrule. Lastly, Link virtually does everything alone in the games, there is no recruiting of anyone else to form any sort of team at all. Now you know =) Your ideas of what this shirt might mean were hilarious to read though.

Thanks for the clarification Brian. How can you tell I don’t know what I’m talking about? Kind of presumptuous isn’t it. Ha ha. Just kidding. I really don’t have an idea of what any of this stuff means.
