Le Chief Tee Shirt (New Standard)

by on March 13, 2010

I have no idea what is going on here. Some kind of rodent, squirrel or chipmunk, with an Indian headdress and a ruff collar.

I do think this ukulele playing lesbian was at least a quarter of the inspiration for this whack (in a good way) design.

Actually, there’s probably a very popular children’s book by Beatrix Potter, that I’m totally spacing out on that features Le Chief cavorting with a alcoholic mole and a clinically insane toad. My apologies if I am indeed overlooking this.

Whatever the case, I like the style: image pixelization, a brush of red and a brush of yellow on the headdress and those piercing, so-pretty-they-make-me-uncomfortable-eyes of the gray squirrel incognito.

So, right now, I’m gonna do something. I’m gonna take my hand and fist up my four fingers, put them sideways, and then pop my thumb up enthusiastically. With vigor. And, because of this, you are more than compelled to get one for yourself. Come on think of the cachet you’ll garner being the first in your trailer park to don this garb. Do it Le Chief style!

By the way, I encourage you to give the entire New Standard catalog a gander. It’s not all funny tshirts, but it certainly is intriguing art work, and the artists get paid a royalty with every sale, so that’s coolio.
