“Intent, but” statements are probably the most powerful tools you have in your relational arsenal. You let the people you care about know that you would like to offer moral support (because that’s the right thing to do in a time of need), but you simply don’t have the moral resume to pull that off.
So, basically, you’re thinkin’ of them, but that’s about all you can do. They should probably find a more upstanding citizen to actually stand by them, be there for them and talk them through in troubling times.
Truly brilliant tactic and as you can see from the tshirt, that guy with the cognac is no intellectual slouch. I mean look at the spectacles and beard. You know who you’re dealing with right there.
