Dallas Mavericks Dirk Nowitzki Nowitzness T Shirt

by on June 14, 2011

Dirk Nowitzki got MVP for leading the Dallas Mavericks to a 4-2 series victory over the Miami Heat in the NBA finals. Good for him. He’s been through a lot of crap, including losing the 2006 NBA Finals to the Heat after leading 2-0 and having a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter of game three. Then, the team choked in the playoffs as the number one seed losing to eighth-seeded Golden State. Plus, there was the deal with his stripper girlfriend very publicly trying to game him. But, he’s persevered and he made it through with the team he started with. Great story.

However, this is as much about LeBron James as it is Nowitzki.

Let me break this Nowitzness T Shirt down for you. First, Donkey Ts makes the shirt and they’re from Ohio, so they inherently have to hate LeBron James, who jilted the city of Cleveland and, by proxy, the entire state of Ohio, by holding a one-hour show called “The Decision” to tell the world he was bailing on the Cleveland Cavaliers and “taking his talents to South Beach.” You can’t kill him for the lower case “d” decision to move to South Beach and play with two great teammates. However, you can take offense to the tone deaf presentation. Anyway, his Nike slogan has been Witness for a while, so Nowitzness is a play on that, because LeBron struggled and Dirk got the hardward. Of course, had Miami pulled out Game 6, I think they would have one the series, and that Game Six nine for 27 turd Dirk squeezed out would have been considered a huge choke.

But that didn’t happen and the villains lost. Hooray! Now get the shirt to remember all of this fabulous sporting drama.
